Senior Platform Engineer

A global hedgefund is looking to bring on a Cloud Engineer to their team.

Salary: 175,000 - 250,000 base salary with annual discretionary bonus.

Responsibilities:

Mentor team members and manage public cloud environments
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders for cloud solutions
Automate and optimize infrastructure and application deployment
Develop self-service cloud capabilities
Implement and support cloud applications and systems
Promote cloud adoption and provide a platform as a product
Participate in on-call rotation and maintenance
Tech Stack:

AWS, Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Linux, Windows, Containerd, Podman, OCI, Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, OpenTelemetry

Technical Fit:

7+ years in large-scale cloud services (AWS preferred)
Bachelor's in engineering or related field
Expert in infrastructure automation (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)
Strong in AWS products, Kubernetes, cloud-native security, FinOps, automation scripting (Python, Bash), Linux, networking, container technologies, disaster recovery, CI/CD tools
Bonus Points:

Cloud architecture and strategy experience
Open-source contributions
AWS, Kubernetes certifications
Experience with Ansible, AI/ML infrastructure, platform engineering

Role must sit in firms Chicago office.
