Plant Maintenance Technician I-III openings


2ND SHIFT ONLY 2PM - 10 PM



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Completion of all work orders via CMMS
  • Perform both emergency and corrective action repairs.
  • Prepares both building and processing equipment for season start-up and shut down.
  • Be able to work a minimum of six days per week and 12 hours per day. Weekend work is required.
  • Read equipment O&M manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Assist with operational support on equipment and coordinates parts and repairs with the Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Train personnel in the correct manner to perform and complete daily, monthly quarterly, semi-annual and annual PM's.
  • Fabricate material and come up with corrective solutions to resolve problems.
  • Maintain communication with Maintenance Manager, Plant Managers, Operations Supervisors and Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Supervises and manages time effectively with no supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-8 years of maintenance in a food grade industrial facility preferred.
  • Electrical and troubleshooting experience 5-8 years' experience with certifications of courses completed.
  • Ice machines & Ammonia Refrigeration, HVAC, Industrial Ice Machines, and Boiler experience required.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuitry, PLC's and VFD's
  • Willingness to further education with both outside training courses and hands on training on equipment.

COMPUTER SKILLS: High

  • PLC Programming Experience required

Combo of Technical and hands on skills:

Skills:

  • Basic Knowledge of Agricultural Equipment: Familiarity with tractors, irrigation systems, and other equipment common on farms.
  • Ability to Read Technical Manuals: Understanding blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical diagrams for equipment repair.

Practical Experience:

  • Previous experience working on pumps, irrigation systems, water systems, or electrical equipment in agricultural settings.
  • Experience with Electrical Equipment on Farms
  • Familiarity with farm-specific electrical systems such as irrigation systems, water wells.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Pump Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Knowledge of various pump types and their functions.
  • Ability to maintain, repair, and replace pumps, including checking for leaks, wear, and performance issues.

Electrical Systems Knowledge:

  • Understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, and controls (particularly as they apply to farming equipment).
  • Familiarity with electrical panels, motor controllers, and troubleshooting electrical issues like shorts or blown fuses.
  • Piping Systems and Fluid Flow:
  • Knowledge of pipe installation, repair, and maintenance, as well as the flow dynamics involved in pump operations.
