Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Plant Operations Leader to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations and drive strategic initiatives that improve performance, productivity, and profitability. This role requires a hands-on leader who can blend big-picture thinking with operational execution, inspiring teams and optimizing resources across production, quality, and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Provide strategic and tactical oversight of plant operations, ensuring production targets, cost objectives, and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.
- Process Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
- Production Planning:
- Develop and execute production schedules and capacity plans that align with customer demand, resource availability, and budgetary goals.
- Cost & Performance Management:
- Monitor operational performance through KPIs and financial metrics, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, enhance output, and improve overall plant profitability.
- Labor & Resource Optimization:
- Manage staffing levels, schedules, and labor utilization to ensure a balance between productivity, cost control, and employee well-being.
- Quality & Compliance:
- Uphold rigorous quality, safety, and environmental standards. Ensure full compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and customer expectations.
- Team Development:
- Build and mentor a high-performing operations team by fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain effective vendor relationships, ensure timely material delivery, and support production flow.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in manufacturing leadership, including at least 3 years in plant management or a senior operations role.
- Proven ability to lead operational turnarounds and drive sustainable performance improvements.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, analyzing data, and driving cost efficiencies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to influence and engage teams at all levels.
- Deep understanding of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and EHS standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple competing priorities.
