Electrical Engineer - Plant Engineering

A leading global manufacturer is seeking a skilled Plant Electrical Engineer to join its facility engineering team. This position plays a critical role in the successful execution of capital projects, infrastructure development, and support of building and maintenance systems across multiple production sites.


As a Plant Engineer, you'll be instrumental in driving facility upgrades and process improvements. The role is based in Northeast Ohio and focuses on developing electrical solutions that align with internal standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver capital projects at production facilities across Northeast Ohio.
  • Lead the electrical scope of projects including design, planning, documentation, equipment installation, and project management.
  • Develop engineering solutions that enhance equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and mitigate risk during planned outages.
  • Maintain accurate and sustainable documentation for long-term engineering and maintenance use.
  • Ensure designs support ISO 14001 standards and comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Provide project budgets and schedules while ensuring on-time and on-cost project delivery.
  • Evaluate equipment proposals and verify specification alignment.
  • Offer day-to-day technical support to production and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as engineering, production, maintenance, and procurement.
  • Interface with and manage third-party engineering and construction partners.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Carry out other engineering-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong initiative and ownership of tasks.
  • Solid problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong safety awareness and good judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on troubleshooting and work on the plant floor when necessary.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 79.
  • Experience with 2D CAD tools; proficiency in AutoCAD and Vault is a plus.
  • Willing to occasionally support off-shift operations and travel between local facilities as needed.
