Purpose
This position is responsible for providing business support and decision making to the NPC South President and for overseeing the accounting operations.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment, in addition to a minimum of 2-3 years of managerial experience.
- Proven problem-solving and team building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing a small group, which includes accounts payable, purchasing, and cost accounting.
- Working knowledge of production accounting, inventory accounting, labor and payroll activities, budget preparation, and accounts payable activities.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Must work well under pressure.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Essential Functions
Accounting
- Approve purchase orders for all purchases.
- Code payables with corresponding account numbers.
- Ensure that available cash discounts are given to accounts payable.
- Handle various cash disbursements and receipts.
- Analyze financial statements and summarize for senior management
- Assist Corporate Accounting with the monthly closing process for NPC South.
- Generate quarterly margin reports and annual margin reports for CFO and COO.
- Create miscellaneous reports for department heads to assist with establishing goals and measuring progress.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report to management.
- Prepare monthly allocations of expenses to business units.
Inventory
- Thorough understanding of all products that are purchased and/or manufactured in-house to ensure accurate product costing.
- Thorough knowledge of inventory processes and procedures to assist in addressing miscellaneous inventory issues and identify improvement opportunities.
- Serve as primary finance point-of-contact for coordination of annual physical inventory and oversee cycle count program.
- Produce semi-annual inventory report to CFO and COO.
Payroll
- Working with the division president and human resources, establish set hourly rates for all positions based on skill and level of labor intensity.
- Working with the division president and human resources, establish, and adjust incentive rates for all manufacturing positions.
- Maintain weekly payroll report by department.
- Track temporary labor for proper accounting and allocation to departments.
Operations
- Participate in decision making for various operational projects and changes.
- Various ad hoc projects as needed.
