We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position, where you will be responsible for overseeing financial activities across two of our plants in Michigan. You will play a pivotal role in the financial management of our company, including financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and continuous improvement. This role involves up to 5% travel and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's financial growth and stability.
Responsibilities:
As a Plant Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing the financial operations of two manufacturing plants in Michigan, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
2. Utilizing Oracle and Hyperion to manage financial data and generate accurate and timely financial reports.
3. Conducting financial forecasting and budgeting to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
4. Performing financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
5. Driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize financial processes and procedures.
6. Preparing and filing sales tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
7. Implementing and maintaining SOX controls to mitigate financial risks.
8. Leading financial planning activities, including capital expenditure planning, cost reduction initiatives, and profitability analysis.
9. Providing leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA and/or CPA is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
4. Proven experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or similar financial management systems.
5. Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement SOX controls.
6. Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
8. Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time to support business needs.
9. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
