Purpose of Position:

The Manager of Planning & Inventory Operations will be responsible for supporting the direction, planning and management of forecasting, replenishment, and allocation processes for all categories of business across stores, eCommerce and the Distribution Network. They will ensure a successful interface with all Vendors and cross-functional partners including Merchandising, Store Operations, and Distribution. Working closely with the Merchandising, this role will also be responsible for managing a variety of projects that drive process improvements across the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze sales and inventory trends to help the creation of strategies to maximize sales, profits, and availability to grow the business and achieve the financial plan

Support the planning & replenishment team in regular meetings to help outline past performance and develop specific actions to improve the business as needed

Help assess the systems that support planning & replenishment, and support any needs to upgrade or modify to improve accuracy and efficiency

Partner with the Director of P&I on supporting the OTB process with reporting and data analysis

Assist with developing and implementing inventory management strategies that accommodate a wide range of products, including short coded items seasonal buys, and one-time closeout buys

Maintain a high level of flexibility in an environment with frequently changing SKUs and limited assortment predictability

Manage a variety of projects that help create and implement new business process, data needs and system enhancements

Analyze the proper flow of merchandise and support the supply chain to achieve business objectives and strategies with consideration of both short-term goals and long-term plan

Manage replenishment policies that maintain control factors; implementation of inventory plans and systems use that ensures consistent integration to marketing, advertising, product presentation plans and corporate strategies, while moving the department forward in system development and use

Work cross functionally with corporate departments to achieve in-stock and inventory turnover goals

Manage modeling, situation analysis, problem diagnosis, and operations analysis to support business decision making with financial analysis

Manage analysis around forecast accuracy and bias metrics on developing capability to provide strategic direction

Analyze inventory deployment and targeting methods in collaboration with supply chain. Deliver value in the form of reduced inventory with high service level where possible

Qualifications:

Retail Merchandise-specific replenishment and allocation experience

Advanced ERP systems experience

Advanced Excel skills

Exceptional communication skills: an experienced consensus builder with excellent verbal and written communication

Strong leadership experience with direct reports and non-direct reports alike

Proven track record of analyzing financial results and delivering financial results in response

Excellent collaboration and cross-functional team skills


Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply chain, Logistics or related field required

A minimum of 5 years of experience, some including manager level, with progressive planning & replenishment responsibility, preferably in a retail environment


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position currently does not manage a Team but could evolve future state

The employee may be required to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time

Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity at 20

inches or less due to computer work

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience a moderate noise level (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic)

This position may require some travel.
