Job Purpose / Overview
Working in the Central Controls Teams as part of the Planning Discipline of Project Controls, under the direction and leadership of the IPC Planning Manager, to be responsible for the management of the Level 2/4 (client) Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in adherence with HPC processes. This will include managing the alignment of Level 3 (contract) schedules, and provision of time-related data and analysis. To support the IPC Planning Manager in leading central Planning activities for the Project and in developing Planning standards, policies and strategies.
Principal Accountabilities
Team.
- Support the IPC Lead Planner in the implementation and maintenance of Project Controls processes for Planning,
- Support Senior Project/ Programme Managers
- including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis.
- Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls, as well as other Project Support Functions, to help deliver Project goals in keeping with the HPC principles of Trust, Transparency and Teamwork
Core Processes.
- Produce and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera 6 (P6), with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising approved construction techniques.
- Ensure the Level 2/4 IWS is updated to an agreed timeframe.
- Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
- Identify, analyse and provide solutions to time-related issues.
- Co-ordinate, verify and produce Project-level schedule reports to a defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues.
- Adhere to Project governance and Scheduling standards and procedures.

- Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques.
- Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques in a UK context.
- Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans.
- Good working knowledge of P6.
- Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost and Risk) including management techniques and associated software.
- Understanding of earned value analysis.
- Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC.
- Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques.
- Good commercial awareness.
- High level of analytical and numerical skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all working and management levels.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum of a degree in Engineering, Construction or other related field, or HND or equivalent qualification with recognised experience commensurate with a degree.
- Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status.
- Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role on a major construction project.
- Substantial experience in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above.
- Experience of commercial contracting.
1Minimum 10 years Electrical experience working on large scale infrastructure/ industrial projects - Qualification in Electrical Engineering (Preferred)
