Planner - Airfields & Civils

Location: Gatwick Airport

Red Sky Personnel is currently recruiting for a Construction Planner (Airfields and Civils) to support major infrastructure projects based at Gatwick Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced live environment, supporting a wide variety of civil and infrastructure projects from facilities expansion to airfield upgrades.

You'll be right at the heart of planning and delivering projects that have a visible impact on one of the UK's busiest transport hubs. This role is ideal for a Planner looking to broaden their experience in a complex, safety-critical environment with significant investment and growth over the coming years.

The Role

As a Planner, you will provide a comprehensive planning service across all project stages, including schedule development, progress monitoring, and recovery planning. You'll work closely with delivery teams on projects up to £50m in value, ensuring robust planning practices and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain delivery schedules with clear milestones and logic-based sequencing
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary constraints across integrated project programmes
  • Monitor and report progress, identifying critical path activities and schedule risks
  • Support delay analysis and assess contractor programme submissions
  • Assist in the development of quantity take-offs and staffing plans
  • Review and validate contractor schedules and performance against baseline plans
  • Contribute to schedule and cost performance reporting

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in a construction or business-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Planner on projects over £10m
  • Strong Primavera P6 and MS Excel skills
  • Familiarity with infrastructure projects in live operational environments
  • Understanding of NEC contracts and key project controls
  • Experience in quantity take-offs and schedule analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple interfaces
  • Prior experience in aviation or high-security environments desirable but not essential
