Basic Function: As a Product Manager, it is your mission to help anticipate and respond to customer needs by helping the Quincy team develop and implement competitive insights, solutions, and products, creating customer value and supporting Quincy Compressor piston growth. Responsible for all brands including Quincy, Chicago Pneumatic, ABAC. This position will be based at the Customer Center in Bay Minette, AL, USA and will report to the Business Line Manger, Core Technologies. Remote work is possible. Your main responsibilities are to: Product Management
• Be the industrial and commercial piston expert on the team, both from both the product and market point of view for all brands. Know the product portfolio inside and out
• Assist field sales in the preparation of product quotations and technical data as required by Virtual Engineer and other on-line ordering systems.
• Responsible for competitive price quoting based on standard gross profit margins, discounting guidelines, and competitive pressures on specific jobs.
• Provide Technical Sales Support to the Customer Center and distribution with training and related material to improve product and application knowledge, sales arguments, and competitor information.
• In collaboration with divisional personnel, establish effective short and long-range strategic goals and product plans. Provide project management leadership.
• Promptly manages customer inquiries of all types. Answers routine product questions.
• Assist with ensuring revenue goals and product profitability regarding consolidated gross profit, working closely with the Marketing, Finance, and the Global Product companies
• Create and communicate all key business metrics related to industrial and commercial pistons. Produce special reports and analysis as requested.
• Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with customer, distributors, and other employees.
• Accepts and completes any special projects and assignments that are not principal duties of this position but are in line with the goals and objectives of this department and division. Product Launches
• Primary owner of product launch activities, including ensuring all items on product launch check list are completed. Communicates and collaborates with all key stakeholders to ensure successful product launches within the agreed project timing, planned product & projects cost and according to Quincy quality standards. Product Positioning
• Conduct training to improve product and application knowledge, sales arguments, customer segmentation and competitor information.
• Create and update all marketing collateral information and technical data to supplement selling activity. Assist with Quincy product databases to ensure the most up to date technical information, pictures, product descriptions are available to improve presence in both print and digital marketing
• Create content for online presence and digital lead generation. Actively work to create customer stories, industry application stories sharing through all sales channels.
• Follow in detail competitive activities and continuously benchmark the competition's performance, pricing and market position against Quincy.
• Evaluate potential complimentary products and accessory items for inclusion in total product offering. Market Pricing
• Make recommendations for pricing changes on equipment to stay in line with market and divisional goals. Ensure all pricing always up to date in key systems. Inventory Management
• Monitors inventory stock balances, and recommends/implements changes based on company objectives.
• Works with divisional personnel to coordinate sourcing activities. Accountability:
• Reports to Business Line Manager, Core Technologies Education and Experience:
• An academic background in Engineering and/or Marketing or equivalent work experience
• Must have a high technical aptitude. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Availability:
• Knowledge of industrial Refrigerated and Desiccant Dryer applications preferred, including competitive offerings and field applications.
• Must have experience with bid specifications and preparing competitive price quotes.
• Must have experience with customer service functions.
• Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), excellent analytical and computer skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must have an excellent phone demeanor. Supervisory Responsibilities:

• General Safety Training Physical Demands:
• Required to be able to move about the facility (standing, walking). Personal Protective Equipment:
• While on shop floor, must always wear safety glasses and steel toed shoes. Work Environment:
• Mainly an office environment, with some exposure to a plant environment.
• Hybrid position. Expectation is a minimum of at least one week a month in Bay Minette, AL. or as required.
• 25% domestic travel possible.
