Pilates Instructor (mat and Reformer), you will step in to lead exciting and challenging Pilates classes that cater to different fitness levels. This position requires a combination of professionalism, enthusiasm, and a strong understanding of Pilates techniques, ensuring that each class is engaging and safe. You'll play a vital role in fostering a positive environment and supporting our members as they strive to meet their fitness goals.
This is a part-time, fully on-site role at our club in Portland, OR.
What You'll Do- Teach Engaging Classes: Lead both mat and reformer Pilates classes, delivering routines that are appropriately challenging for participants of varying skill levels.
- Develop Dynamic Routines: Continuously refine and update class content to keep members motivated and excited about their fitness journey.
- Foster a Supportive Environment: Create an atmosphere that encourages participants to push themselves while maintaining safety and proper form.
- Prioritize Safety: Maintain all required certifications and adhere to best practices in Pilates instruction.
- Be Punctual and Prepared: Arrive on time with a positive attitude, prepared to lead each class and engage with members effectively.
- Collaborate with Other Instructors: Work with fellow fitness instructors and trainers to ensure seamless and cohesive class offerings at MAC.
What You'll Bring- Pilates Certification: Current certification in both Pilates Mat and Reformer (Full certification preferred).
- Teaching Experience: At least 1 year of experience teaching group Pilates classes, particularly with mat and reformer formats.
- CPR/AED Certification: Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire.
- Additional Certifications (Preferred): Personal trainers with additional certifications in related fields such as Yoga, MELT Method, or Gyrokinesis are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of Pilates & Anatomy: In-depth understanding of Pilates principles, functional anatomy, and experience working with special populations or chronic injuries.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly instruct and motivate a diverse group of participants.
- Adaptability: The ability to modify classes to meet various fitness levels and ensure members remain challenged and engaged.
- Punctual and Reliable: A strong work ethic, reliability, and a consistently positive, energetic demeanor are essential.
- Schedule Flexibility:This role offers flexible hours, with primarily weekend and evening shifts, and the potential for more hours based on demand and performance.
