Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Wound Care Physician for a 60-day locum tenens position at a hospital in New York. Starting on 06/23/2025, this assignment offers a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekends or call requirements. The ideal candidate will be proficient in treating a wide range of wound types, including ulcers, non-healing skin tears, surgical wound complications, burns, traumatic wounds, delayed radiation injuries, and chronic refractory osteomyelitis. Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate and treat various types of wounds, including diabetic ulcers, venous insufficiency, pressure ulcers, and arterial ulcers
- Manage non-healing skin tears, surgical wound complications, burns, and traumatic wounds
- Treat delayed radiation injuries and chronic refractory osteomyelitis
- Perform vascular assessments and bio-engineered skin grafting procedures
- Administer compression therapy and negative-pressure therapy
- Conduct hyperbaric oxygen therapy using two hyperbaric chambers
- Provide hospital consults via telemedicine
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive wound care
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on wound care and prevention strategies
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in wound care medicine
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
Additional Information:
- New York medical license required
- Board certification in a relevant specialty with additional certification in Wound Care preferred
- Experience in wound care essential, including familiarity with various wound types and treatment modalities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Comfortable with telemedicine consultations
