We are seeking a board-certified Neurological Surgeon for a 20-day locum tenens assignment at a Surgery Center in South Dakota. The ideal candidate will be available to start on 06/01/2025, working 24-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM. This role requires expertise in neurosurgery, including both head and spine procedures. The assignment is flexible, with 7-10 day blocks preferred, and offers potential for extension. The position also utilizes the Epic EMR system.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Perform neurosurgery procedures on both head and spine

Manage inpatient call responsibilities

Respond to emergencies within 30 minutes

Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a Trauma setting

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EMR

Participate in care coordination and patient education

Adhere to hospital protocols and best practices

Complete necessary documentation and administrative tasks


Additional Information:

South Dakota medical license required

Board certification in Neurological Surgery mandatory

Experience with Epic EMR preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment

Potential for assignment extension
