Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care:
    • The PM&R physician will manage a patient census of up to 20 patients, functioning similarly to a hospitalist but specifically for the inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF).
    • Responsibilities include rounding on assigned patients and ensuring high-quality care in a rehabilitation setting with a maximum bed capacity of 90 patients.
    • Physicians will not be required to handle outpatient cases, allowing full focus on inpatient care.

    • Physicians must be licensed in Florida (FL) and possess ACLS certification. Other certifications such as BLS, PALS, ABLS, and ATLS are not required.
    • Physicians should be capable of obtaining hospital privileges quickly, as temporary privileges are available with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 30 days.
  • Shifts:
    • The position requires no on-call duties beyond the minimal trauma call panel, allowing for a balanced work schedule.
    • The focus will be on maintaining the census within the inpatient rehabilitation unit, ensuring all patients receive the necessary care and attention.
  • Technology:
    • The facility uses the Cerner EMR system, which facilitates efficient patient management and record-keeping.
Additional Details:
  • High-Volume Facility:

    • The facility requires quick credentialing and onboarding, making this an excellent opportunity for physicians who are ready to start immediately.
  • Collaboration:
    • While the primary focus is on inpatient care, the role includes minimal call responsibilities, allowing for greater collaboration and communication within the healthcare team.
Benefits:
  • Ongoing Opportunity:
    • This is an ongoing locum tenens position, providing stability and the chance to make a significant impact over time.
  • Supportive Environment:
    • Join a dedicated team in a well-equipped rehabilitation facility, where your expertise will be fully utilized, and your contributions will be valued.
  • Regional Preference:
    • Preference is given to physicians who are already licensed in Florida, ensuring a smooth transition into the role.
