General Surgery Weekend Call Coverage Locums Job in Eastern Mississippi August Start + Ongoing Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility located in eastern Mississippi that needs General Surgery (with some trauma) coverage starting this upcoming August and ongoing. The facility will be losing a physician and will need a locums to assist with weekend call (Friday at 7A - Monday at 7A) on a monthly basis & to intermittently assist with vacation and holiday dates. Coverage need: Seeking weekend (Friday AM - Monday AM) 24-hr ED/inpatient call coverage starting August 2025 + ongoing Will also have intermittent vacation & holiday coverage needs Details/Requirements for opportunity : - Seeking candidates with an active & unrestricted Mississippi medical license + DEA - Active Board Certification required at time of presentation - Must be skilled/experienced with large colon cases + light to moderate trauma cases (must be able to provide sufficient, up to date case logs while credentialing) - 24-hour ED / inpatient call coverage only, no clinic/outpatient needs - Cases to anticipate: large colon cases, level 3 trauma cases to include gunshot wounds, etc., all bread & butter general surgery cases (hernia repairs, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, etc.) - Facility detail: 250+ staffed beds, designated level 3 trauma center, Epic EMR - Reason for need: losing 1 surgeon in August - have a permanent position open & are also interested in locums to permanent candidates Jackson and Coker offers: + Weekly Direct Deposit + Top Rated Malpractice Insurance + In-House Travel Agency + 24/7 Recruiter Availability + Experienced In-House Privileging Coordinators Experience why Jackson and Coker has been recognized by Forbes and Staffing
