Position Details
- Specialty: General Surgeon with a focus on Breast Oncology or Fellowship-Trained Breast Surgeon.
- Start Date: February 1, 2025.
- Schedule:
- Monday through Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) in the clinic.
- Operating Room schedule dependent on block availability.
- Beeper call after clinic hours, including potential 24-hour weekend call. Call volumes are low, with approximately one call per day.
- Patient Load: 12-15 patients per shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform oncology-focused breast surgeries, including:
- Mastectomies (nipple-sparing included).
- Lumpectomies.
- Sentinel node biopsies and axillary dissections.
- Participation in joint oncoplastic surgeries.
- Manage high-risk and benign breast conditions as well as survivorship care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Must hold a valid California medical license.
- Experience: Minimum of 100 breast surgeries performed within the last two years (case logs required).
- Certification: Board Certification in General Surgery is required.
- Skills: Proficient in handling oncology-focused procedures; no requirement for cosmetic breast surgeries (e.g., reductions or augmentations).

- Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60-90 days.
- No supervision of advanced practice providers or teaching responsibilities required.
