Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemistry Technician/Technologist to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will perform various chemistry-related tests and analyses, ensuring the accurate and timely results for a wide range of scientific and diagnostic applications. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols to maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and complex chemical analyses, including quantitative and qualitative testing of specimens.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment such as spectrometers, chromatographs, and other analytical tools.
  • Prepare and test samples for chemical reactions, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of reagents.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory protocols for sample preparation, testing, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, CLIA, and local guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed records of all tests and experiments, including results, observations, and quality control data.
  • Collaborate with team members, including senior chemists and laboratory supervisors, to resolve technical issues and improve laboratory processes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure proper calibration of instruments.
  • Assist in the development of new testing methods and the implementation of new technologies in the laboratory.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for analysis results and communicate findings to other departments or clients.

Qualifications:

  • Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Chemistry Technologist or Technician (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) required.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in a chemistry laboratory or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, HPLC, and mass spectrometers.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test results and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
