Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position at a Mental Health facility in Massachusetts. This 24-day assignment begins on 04/21/2025, with a flexible schedule of 5-10 hours per week, typically spread across two days. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing outpatient psychiatric cases for all ages, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and medication management. Responsibilities include conducting follow-up appointments, reviewing charts with a Nurse Practitioner, and providing comprehensive psychiatric care. There is also a chance for an extension with this role.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide outpatient psychiatric care for patients of all ages

Manage various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD

Conduct medication management for existing patients

Perform follow-up appointments lasting 15-30 minutes on average

Review charts and collaborate with a Nurse Practitioner for one hour per week

Utilize Insync electronic health record system for documentation

Develop and adjust treatment plans as needed

Collaborate with other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Adhere to all facility policies and procedures

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric best practices and treatment guidelines

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members

Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with all relevant regulations


Requirements:

Active Massachusetts state medical license

Board certification in Psychiatry

Experience in outpatient psychiatric care for diverse age groups

Proficiency in medication management and treatment of various mental health conditions

Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Insync

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexibility to adapt to a varying weekly schedule
