Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position at a clinic in Alabama. This 120-day assignment begins on 06/16/2025, with potential for extension. The physician will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. The role involves providing psychiatric care for patients with various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with "bread and butter" psychiatry and must be able to collaborate with an onsite Nurse Practitioner. Experience with Athenahealth EMR is preferred.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Diagnose and treat patients with various mental health conditions

Provide care for patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD

Collaborate with an onsite Nurse Practitioner

Develop and implement treatment plans for patients

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up appointments

Prescribe and manage medications as needed

Utilize Athenahealth EMR for patient management and record-keeping

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters

Stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatric care

Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices


Additional Information:

Must be licensed to practice medicine in Alabama

Board certification in Psychiatry required

Experience with Athenahealth EMR preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential

Ability to work efficiently in a clinic setting
