Non-invasive Imaging Pediatric Cardiologist

  • Rotating call coverage (including after-hours call coverage) with 11 other pediatric cardiologists.
  • Outpatient cardiology clinic including outreach
  • OR TTE and TEE coverage
  • Cardiac CT/MRI
  • Fetal echocardiogram (optional)

The Department of Pediatrics at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Division of Pediatric Cardiology is seeking a full-time BC/BE non-invasive Pediatric cardiologist with training in advanced cardiac imaging to join a growing, well-established group of academic cardiologists.

The Cardiology division is housed within the Dorothy and Larry Dallas Heart Center at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. The heart center encompasses an active congenital heart surgery program with state-of-the-art operating rooms, a (65-bed) Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, a (20-bed) pediatric intensive care unit, a hybrid cardiac catheterization lab/operating suite and dedicated electrophysiology laboratory suite. SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital is a free-standing children's hospital and is staffed by faculty members of Saint Louis University School of Medicine. The division currently consists of eleven pediatric cardiologists, two clinical nurse practitioners, dedicated cardiology clinic nurses, as well as a pediatric cardiology fellowship training program. Our non-invasive imagers read transthoracic echocardiograms as well as perform transesophageal echocardiograms. The program currently has a robust Cardiac CT/MRI program and a multidisciplinary Fetal heart program. Interest in one or both areas is preferred.

The successful candidate will join the advanced imaging team at the level of Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Missouri. Candidates will have already completed an ACGME accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology and additional training in pediatric advanced cardiac imaging. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in clinical and/or translational research, however, basic science opportunities are also available. Academic clinical faculty appointments will be facilitated at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
