Physician / Neonatology

Opening: Physician Specialty: Neonatologist Position Type: Locum Tenens Facility: Hospital Location: Virginia Length: 6+ months Start Date: asap, privileging averages 90-120 days Expedited privileges are available for those with clean file. Shift coverage model: 1 MD (in house while NNP is not) following by call from home/hotel. 1 NNP (in house for 16 hours at night). MD in house hours 8a-4p; NNO hours in house 4p-8a. Must be able to work at least 8 shifts per month Details: Facility bed size: 133 Level III NICU Shifts are 24hours (in house 8a-4p; call from hotel 4p-8a) 9-bed NICU, 20-bed newborn nursery 900 annual deliveries Average Daily Census: NICU 2-3; Newborns 5-8 C-section rate: Approx 30% EMR, Charting: Meditech and PremiEHR Shift Responsibilities and Procedures: Rounds in NICU/newborns, admissions/discharges, and attendance emergency C-sections (when NNP is not present) Daily Patient Load: approx 5-7 total between NICU and Newborn nursery Credentials: Active VA medical license or in-process accepted.
