Opening: Physician Specialty: Neonatologist Position Type: Locum Tenens Facility: Hospital Location: Alabama Start Date: asap, Average time to credential is 90 days. Will consider expedited privileging with clean file. Length: 6+ months Shift times: 24 hour shifts, 8a-8a; in-house during the day 8a-4p and call at night. Staff Model coverage: NPs are in house for 12 hours every day and then for 2 nights there is a NP in house. Physicians take call from hotel. Details: Total bed size: 420 NICU and Newborn bed size: 18 NICU; 20 Nursery Annual Births/Deliveries: 1600 Average Daily census: 11 NICU; 8 Well-baby Midlevel support; daily NNP coverage EMR: EPIC and PremiEHR Average patient age: Newborn Shift responsibilities: Neo covers the NICU and newborn nursery Level III NICU Sub-specialty back up: Respiratory therapy; lactation consultant, and Neonatal transport team at facility. Eye exams (ophthalmology for ROP); consults from Children s of Birmingham and UAB (each perform cardio reads and echos). These test are read the same day. Credentials: Active Alabama medical license.
