Our St. Charles Cancer Centers in Bend and Redmond are accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers . We combine leading-edge technology, clinical trials, and personalized guidance to deliver outstanding patient care close to home.
Position Overview
The Medical Oncologist will provide comprehensive, evidence-based cancer care across the full spectrum of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive seamless care throughout their cancer journey.
Work Schedule: Full-time, minimum of 40 patient contact hours per week in a blend of outpatient care, inpatient consultation, and administrative duties.
Call Expectation: Participation in a rotating call schedule shared with medical oncology colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Provide expert cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, and care coordination
Prescribe systemic therapies and oversee supportive care
Participate in clinical trials and promote research-driven care
Collaborate with surgeons, radiation oncologists, palliative care, and other specialists
Supervise advanced practice providers
Ensure accurate EMR documentation and timely billing compliance
Leadership and Professional Expectations
Support the Cancer Center's mission, vision, and values through compassionate patient care
Actively participate in quality improvement and clinical innovation initiatives
Maintain board certification, licensure, and CME requirements
Provide mentorship and education to team members, patients, and families
Represent St. Charles Health System with professionalism, integrity, and respect
Required Qualifications
Education
Graduation from an accredited medical school
Completion of an internal medicine residency and hematology-oncology fellowship
Licensure and Certification
MD or DO license
Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology
Current unrestricted DEA license
BLS certification required, ACLS if administering sedation
Ability to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental programs
Experience
Experience in both hospital and outpatient oncology settings
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records systems
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of medical oncology practice experience
Experience using Epic EMR
Oregon licensure and DEA registration

Pay: $530,985.00 - $556,270.00 per year
