Designated Institutional Official (DIO)/Executive Director for Medical Education. The DIO is a dynamic physician-executive and educator who is responsible for the success of all existing and future graduate medical education (GME) programs. The DIO has oversight and executive management responsibility for the ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institution, two accredited residency programs, and related support programs.
This is a full-time onsite leadership role with option for up to 20% clinical time and 20% protected time for scholarship.
Qualified candidates :
• MD or DO degree, with a Master s degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in management, public health, and/or leadership.
• Experience in a GME leadership position is required; previous experience as a DIO or associate DIO is highly desirable. Five years of recent management experience in an undergraduate or graduate medical education setting, including but not limited to service as a DIO, residency/fellowship program director, academic department chair or similar.
• Board certified by a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, or equivalent credentials.
• Licensed to practice medicine within their current state or practice or the state of Georgia, and the ability to obtain a medical license within the state of Georgia.
• Exceptional relational and team-building skills, ideally demonstrating the ability to work across disciplines, departments and health systems to orchestrate and drive system-wide initiatives.
• Ability to interpret, adapt, develop and apply professional education requirements, guidelines and procedures.
