We are seeking a licensed Internal Medicine Physician for a 24-day locum tenens assignment at a small private practice in Maryland with a focus on nephrology cases. Starting 05/19/2025, this role requires expertise in outpatient nephrology, diabetes management, weight loss, and thyroid disorders. The physician will work two days a week, preferably Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8am to 5pm. Key responsibilities include managing patients every 20 minutes (40 minutes for new patients), potentially performing thyroid biopsies, and utilizing advanced AI-implemented technology. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an internist or hospitalist to gain outpatient experience in a technologically advanced setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Manage outpatient nephrology cases

Treat patients with diabetes, weight loss issues, and thyroid disorders

Perform thyroid biopsies (if experienced, not required)

See patients every 20 minutes, with 40 minutes allocated for new patients

Utilize eClinicalWorks electronic health record system

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Collaborate with practice staff and other healthcare professionals

Assess and diagnose various internal medicine conditions

Develop and implement treatment plans

Interpret diagnostic tests and lab results

Communicate effectively with patients and their families

Participate in patient education regarding chronic disease management

Adapt to the practice's AI-implemented office technology

Ensure adherence to practice protocols and best practices in internal medicine


Additional Information:

Experience in outpatient nephrology is highly desirable

Comfort with managing a diverse range of internal medicine cases
