For information about benefits, please reach out to us QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESFOR THE POSITION OF Assistant Public Health Officer Location : California Salary - $174,840 - $247,726 Annually ( D.O.E) + Excellent Benefits.Type : Full time Permanent Hire About the Position Has overall responsibility for the TB Prevention and Control Program. Set the TB Program priorities , direction and strategic initiatives. Will be the spokesperson for the TB prevention and Control program to the media. Essential Functions:Provide expert consultation to the medical community on how to care for persons with active TB disease based on CDC guidelines. Lead TB case conferences with TB case Management team to review cases and advise on treatment plans. Represent the Health officer on all TB related matters. Conduct research on TB related data. Outreach and education regarding prevention, surveillance and reporting. Enforce mandates for prevention of spread of TB disease. Take appropriate measures to stop the spread of TB. Develop and execute TB policies and practices within the Santa Clara county.Will lead the team and will supervise and mentor TB Program managers and staff. Skills and Experience1.Must be a Physician licensed in California and Board Certified in an appropriate medical specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Family Medicine). 2.Must have at least 3 years of post-residency experience in disease control or public health. Have in-depth knowledge of the transmission of TB, diagnosis and medical management of TB.3.Must have training and administrative experience in the planning and coordination of public health programsKnowledge ofLaws and codes of California Health and Safety code, Public Health Administrative Standards / Practices.Clinical medicine, health care , management and administration.Federal and state laws governing public health programs.Principles of Government organization, public financing and budgeting.Ability toServe as Public Health link to the local medical community and county medical association;Work with a diverse team and communicate effectively.Coordinate with different agencies that impact public health and public policy.Desirable qualifications1.A Master in Public Health or completion of the CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service, and/or Board Certification in Infectious Diseases or Pulmonary Medicine is highly desirable.
