Overton Brooks VA Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time permanent board certified/board eligible Chief Pathology & Laboratory Physician. Highlights/Requirements
- Starting base salary: $340,000 - $370,000 per year
- Daily schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Responsible for all clinical and administrative functions of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine service.
- Responsible to ensure that all residency training program mandates are met and may serve as the site director for Pathology Service.
- Identifies needs and recommends major equipment acquisition and replacement
- Ensures accurate clinical laboratory test results with turn-around-time (TAT).
- Ensures accurate anatomic pathology services (surgical pathology, cytology, and autopsy), with TATs that meet the reasonable and possible expectations of the medical staff and accrediting agencies.
- Ensures communication and coordination between the Medical Center laboratory services and the clinical/patient care services.
- Ensures clinical service meet all regulations and directives at local, regional, and national level including accrediting agencies.
- Serves as OBVAMC and BAFB Lab Director.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
- Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
