Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Physician to join our team with a primary focus on pediatric care.
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Staff Physician at Hackley Community Care (HCC) will provide high-quality primary care services as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role involves conducting patient examinations, treatment, referrals, and documentation while ensuring that care is consistent with professional medical standards. The Staff Physician may also provide emergency response services in national emergencies or other circumstances and will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide primary care services including examinations, treatment, and referrals for HCC patients.
Offer guidance and consultation to physician assistants and other care team members.
Participate in emergency response activities, such as screening, triage, testing, diagnosis, and treatment during national emergencies.
Collaborate with medical staff, including nurses, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
Assist with the implementation of preventative care services such as well-child and well-adult exams.
Work with related hospital providers (Emergency Department, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, etc.) and ensure effective use of hospital resources.
Maintain strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and healthcare providers.
Contribute to the development of clinical processes, staffing, medical supplies, and equipment purchases.
Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the Quality Assurance program.
Attend regular meetings to discuss clinical program progress and agency goals.
Maintain up-to-date medical knowledge through continuing education, literature reviews, and peer communication.
Participate in the hiring process for clinical staff.
Qualifications:
Graduated from an accredited medical school.
Current licensure to practice medicine in the State of Michigan.
Insurable for liability coverage as a primary care physician in Michigan.
Must maintain board certification or be board-eligible with the intention of completing board certification within two years of completing residency.
Evidence of ongoing professional development, including CME/CEU courses to meet Michigan state licensure requirements.
Current CPR certification.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong analytical and judgment skills to assess patient conditions and provide accurate diagnoses.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients, often in challenging situations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse medical professionals and community members.
Organizational and managerial skills to contribute to center management and staff direction.
A willingness to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
Ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
