Job Quick Facts Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Type: Locum Tenens Facility Location: Yakima, WA Service Setting: Inpatient Reason For Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Period: Nov 18, 2024 - Ongoing Coverage Type: Call Only Call Schedule: 24-hr call or 12-hr shift - 3 weeks/month Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20 min Patient Volume: 5-10; 3-6 (new IP consults) Daily Procedures: 5-8 Phone Consults: 3-6 Physician in Practice: GI, Anesthesiologist Support Staff: 1 APPs, 2 RNs, 1 MA Required Procedures: - Upper GI endoscopy: with Biopsy, Foreign Body Removal, Fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), Injection of Varices, PEG - ERCP, Lower GI Endoscopy - Flexible & Rigid Sigmoidoscopy - Colonoscopy: With Biopsy & Excision of Polyp Duties/Responsibilities: - Communicate biopsy results for all procedures to the patient directly or routed through the designated clinic MA. - Coordinate additional steps to include referrals, follow-ups and additional imaging as may be necessary.
