Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist for an 84-day locum tenens position at two hospitals in California. Starting on 04/21/2025, this assignment offers a combination of outpatient clinic work and 24-hour call coverage. The schedule includes 5 days per week of outpatient clinic from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, plus 14 shifts per month of 24-hour call coverage. During call shifts, the physician will be expected to perform 2-3 procedures per shift between the two hospitals. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with general GI cases and utilizing the Cerner EMR system. This role also offers the potential for extension beyond the initial 84-day period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide outpatient gastroenterology care in a clinic setting
- Manage 24-hour call coverage for two hospitals
- Perform 2-3 gastroenterology procedures per call shift
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders
- Conduct endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies
- Interpret diagnostic test results and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Cerner EMR system
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
- Provide consultation to other healthcare providers as needed
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in gastroenterology
