We are seeking a skilled Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day locum tenens assignment at a multi-specialty clinic in rural Nevada. Starting on 11/03/2025, this opportunity offers a consistent schedule of Monday through Thursday, from 7 AM to 6 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working as a solo provider in a rural setting, managing multi-symptom, high acuity patients. This role requires expertise in treating a wide range of conditions including respiratory illnesses, chronic diseases, and performing various procedures such as suturing, IV lines, joint injections, and IUD insertions. Proficiency with Epic and OCHIN electronic health record systems is beneficial, with training provided.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide comprehensive primary care services in a rural setting

Diagnose and treat a variety of conditions including cough, cold, flu, hypertension, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases

Perform procedures such as suturing, IV line placement, joint injections, and IUD insertions

Manage high acuity patients with multiple symptoms

Utilize Epic and OCHIN electronic health record systems for documentation

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures

Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention

Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Stay updated on the latest primary care practices and rural health guidelines

Adapt to the unique challenges of practicing in a rural environment

Ensure efficient management of patient flow and care coordination


Additional Information:

Nevada state APRN license required

Experience in rural healthcare settings preferred

Proficiency in Epic and OCHIN EHR systems beneficial (training provided)

Comfort with working as a solo provider in a rural area

Possibility of assignment extension
