Read more about THA here: .This Medical Director position is a Contract position and is eligible for Relocation Assistance. Our Medical Director will provide leadership in providing preventive healthcare in a safe and supportive environment, with an interest and desire to support the LGBTQIA+ community and other diverse populations served through the healthcare team at Kind Clinic. The KIND clinic strives to remove barriers in healthcare to achieve health equity and improve health access.The Medical Director will be a practicing, Texas licensed, BC/BE physician, who is responsible for the clinical effectiveness and the quality of care provided by the health care team. This role will work with other system medical directors and the Chief Medical Officer to help lead the clinical care of the organization, provide input to the CMO in long-range strategic planning, and assist in the Quality Performance Improvement program.This position will provide leadership and direction in all clinical aspects of the medical practice for KIND clinic providers and serve as an example of clinical practice and operational excellence. The Medical Director will demonstrate organizational teamwork and foster optimal patient satisfaction and outcomes. If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted.Duties and responsibilitiesProvide direct hands-on patient care in a community-based practice settingResponsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referralsEvaluate patients, based on medical training and/or specialty, to determine the medical condition of the patient (within the scope of services provided at the clinic), through the performance of physical examinations, evaluation of lab results and ultimately establishing a diagnosis and proposed treatment planAssist in health promotion and disease prevention education of both the patients and clinical teamFacilitates the patients transition within and between health care settings; refer and transfer patients for specialty care and provide follow-up careAs a member of the health care team, exemplify an example in attitude towards patients and staff, thereby, performing duties with respect, dignity, privacy, and modesty to patientsDocument each on-site/in-office procedure, prescription, consultation and patient contact in the EMR (patients chart) and on any necessary clinical forms, within a 24-hour periodCounsel patient regarding medical and other health care problems which might affect patients health and well-beingMaintain high standard of medical practice and participate in the training development of the healthcare teamProvide direction and leadership to the clinical healthcare team, with regard to the administering of a patients careProvide supervision in case assignment to advanced practice providers including sign off and review of documentationPerform other job-related duties, as may be assigned, by the CMOParticipates in the recruitment and selection process for medical providers.Performs clinical supervision of clinic providers, including participation in regular performance appraisals and feedback.Supervises physician assistants and nurse practitioners at THA/KindAssists staff with treatment modalities pertinent to THA/Kind patient populations.Demonstrates an understanding of THA/Kinds mission in performing all aspects of the position.Will assist in the development of clinical education programs pertinent to THA/Kind patient populationsEstablishes positive relationships with local medical community and attends local medical society functionsEnsuring that the medical staff and facility comply with the federal rules, regulations and codes
