Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency and urgent care services to adult and pediatric patients.
- Conduct thorough evaluations, develop treatment plans, and order necessary diagnostics.
- Perform essential procedures as needed within your scope of practice.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, including nurses and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient care.
- Admit patients for further evaluation or treatment when necessary.
- Function as the house physician during the day, rounding on inpatients and managing their care needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Epic EMR system.
Qualifications for Success:
- Board certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) with extensive experience in emergency medicine and hospital medicine.
- Valid Missouri medical license to practice medicine without restrictions.
- Current certifications in ACLS, PALS, and ATLS to demonstrate your commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
- Experience managing inpatients and their complex needs is highly preferred.
