We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Massachusetts. This 60-day assignment, starting 06/01/2025, requires coverage for 8-10 hour shifts Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends. The physician will be responsible for managing a variety of emergency cases, including airway management, wound care, cardiac monitoring, lumbar punctures, central line insertion, chest tube placement, IV access, and incision & drainage. Responsibilities and Duties:
Assess and stabilize patients presenting to the Emergency Department
Perform various emergency procedures including airway management, wound care, and cardiac monitoring
Conduct lumbar punctures, central line insertions, and chest tube placements
Manage IV access and perform incision & drainage procedures
Administer medications as required
Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation and management
Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
Ensure timely and appropriate patient care in a fast-paced environment
Adhere to all relevant medical and ethical guidelines
Additional Information:
Must be licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts
Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department preferred
Strong communication and decision-making skills essential
