Seeking a Skilled and Experienced Emergency Physician for Locum Tenens Role

Are you a dedicated Emergency Medicine physician with a passion for providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Fort Bragg, NC. This temporary opportunity offers a flexible start date as soon as possible (ASAP) and extends until the end of October (October 31st, 2024).

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct thorough patient histories, perform physical examinations, diagnose illnesses and injuries, and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform emergency procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate patient transfers for complex cases (e.g., cardiothoracic, stroke) with major medical centers via airlift or ground transport.
  • Collaborate effectively with mid-level providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Meditech 6.1 electronic medical record system.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted North Carolina (NC) license as a physician.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine (EM) is preferred. Family Medicine (FM) board certification with extensive emergency department experience (minimum 10 years) will also be considered.
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) are mandatory.
  • Experience in a hospital emergency medicine setting is preferred.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and strong clinical foundation in emergency medicine.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and healthcare teams in high-stress situations.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care in a dynamic emergency room setting.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be fully vaccinated against preventable diseases.
  • Must be comfortable working as the sole physician, collaborating with mid-level providers for coverage.
  • Familiarity with the Meditech 6.1 electronic medical record system is a plus.
