We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Physician Associate (PA) to join our forward-thinking and supportive practice team. The successful candidate will be a confident clinician who can contribute to the delivery of excellent primary care while working closely with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will act within your professional boundaries to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients across a range of clinical areas.

Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a defined caseload of patients presenting with acute and chronic illnesses, providing care in accordance with best practice and national guidelines.
  2. Perform clinical assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop patient management plans under the supervision of a named GP.
  3. Deliver care through face-to-face consultations; telephone consultations may be considered depending on the candidate's clinical experience.
  4. Document consultations, findings, and treatment plans accurately in the SystmOne clinical system.
  5. Liaise with other members of the clinical team to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
  6. Participate in weekly clinical meetings and contribute to case discussions and shared learning.
  7. Support health promotion initiatives and contribute to patient education. Work under the supervision of a designated GP, with structured support for clinical decision-making.
  8. Engage in regular clinical debriefs and protected learning time.
  9. Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement activities.

We are based in Hounslow, in a purpose-built medical centre. Our clinical team currently includes GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Nurse Associates, Health Care Assistants, Physician Associates, and First Contact Physiotherapists. We foster a strong team atmosphere with a focus on continuous development throughout the surgery.

Job responsibilities
  1. A Physician Associate who can act within their professional boundaries to contribute to high-quality general practice.
  2. To deliver a high standard of patient care using advanced autonomous clinical skills with in-depth theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practice, working under the supervision of a GP.
  3. To manage a clinical caseload and address patients' needs in a primary care setting.
  4. You will have great support from a designated GP who will be available to review decisions when needed.
  5. As a Physician Associate, you will act within your competency to make diagnoses and plan management with appropriate medical supervision.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Postgraduate Diploma/Master's in Physician Associate Studies from a UK-accredited programme
  • Current registration with the PAMVR (Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register)
  • Valid certification from the UK PA National Exam
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical reasoning skills
  • A strong team player with a flexible, patient-focused approach
  • Experience working in a primary care or community setting
