Responsibilities Provider will provide assistance to physicians specializing in emergency general and trauma surgery and to render care and services to Hospitals patients. Provider s professional services shall be rendered within the scope of his/her training and responsibility, in accordance with community and professional standards of good medical practice, medical necessity, and medical appropriateness, and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Provider shall be responsible for providing the professional medical services normally provided by Providers of the same specialty as Provider to assigned patients without regard for such patients ability to pay. While providing services, the Provider shall comply with that hospital s applicable standards, policies and procedures.
Advanced Practice Providers will provide hospital coverage at St. Joseph s Medical Center, as determined by management.
Essential Duties:
Record medical histories, perform physical examinations, review diagnostic imaging and labs and formulate accurate diagnoses under physician's supervision
Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
Effectively develop and implement patient care treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Consult with physician(s) when appropriate to assess patient condition and treatment
Assist in the Operating Room
Become credentialed and perform advanced bedside surgical procedures
Ensure that medical charts, patient billing and related administrative duties are completed in a timely manner
Maintain current knowledge of medical practices and treatment, including participating in professional development activities and maintaining licensure
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as assigned
Provides patient education. Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment. Uses Universal Precautions including personal protective equipment for anticipated contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
Maintains HIPPA compliance and protects sensitive data at all times.
Adheres to organizational and department specific safety standards and guidelines.

Possession of or eligibility for a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License for Schedule II Controlled Substances
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) within first year of hire
Pay Range$75.00 - $98.63 /hour
