Physician Assistant interested in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine

Salem Chest Specialists, located in Winston-Salem, NC, has an excellent opportunity for a Physician Assistant interested in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine to join our care team.

Salem Chest Specialists is dedicated to evaluating and treating patients with acute and chronic lung disorders. We also provide inpatient services, including critical care, pulmonary consults, and ICU care. We operate a sleep lab where we diagnose and treat conditions such as sleep apnea that interfere with restful sleep. We also have an active research program.

The open position is hospital-only. The schedule is seven on/seven off. Advanced Care Practitioner will be responsible for the evaluation and management of critical care patients in the Intensive Care setting, treats and manages acute and chronic illness/injury through the administering, dispensing and prescribing of therapeutic measures, tests, procedures, and drugs, as defined in written practice guidelines and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and perform procedures such chest tube placement, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, and intubations.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and document all patient interactions.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and health management.
• Ensure compliance with ACLS and BLS protocols during patient care.

A master's Degree is required; experienced PAs and new graduates are encouraged to apply. PAs require current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Salem Chest Specialists offers a competitive salary and a generous benefits package.
