Physician Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in South Dakota, starting May 12, 2025. This Full time position involves providing primary care services in a multi-specialty clinic setting, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a light patient load of 5-6 patients per day in a small-town family practice environment. This long-standing community clinic focuses on general outpatient family medicine, including walk-ins. The role does not involve OB care, infant care, or suturing. This opportunity offers a very manageable workload in a well-established practice setting. Proficiency with Meditech EHR is required.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide comprehensive primary care services for patients of all ages (excluding infants)

Manage a patient load of 5-6 patients per day

Handle walk-in patients and general family medicine cases

Conduct physical examinations and preventive care screenings

Diagnose and treat common illnesses and chronic conditions

Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans

Educate patients on disease prevention and health maintenance

Accurately document patient encounters using Meditech EHR

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a multi-specialty setting

Adapt to the needs of a small-town community practice

Additional Information:

Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in South Dakota

Experience in family practice and primary care required

Proficiency with Meditech EHR system preferred
