Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Family Practice for a locum tenens position at a clinic in North Carolina. This 240-day assignment begins on 07/31/2025, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8am to 5pm. The role includes occasional on-call responsibilities. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (with on-call rotation)

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct geriatric intake assessments and manage medications for PACE program participants

• Perform comprehensive health histories and physical examinations

• Provide patient education and counseling

• Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests and results

• Document patient care thoroughly using PACElogic electronic health record system

• Initiate emergency measures as needed

• Recognize and respond to abnormal findings

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Participate in on-call rotation (1 week every 5 weeks) for triage services

• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geriatric and family practice best practices

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina state license

• Current certification as a Family Physician Assistant

• Experience in geriatric care and medication management

• Familiarity with PACE programs or similar elderly care initiatives

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, preferably PACElogic

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
