We are seeking a licensed Wound Care Physician Assistant for a 20-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan. Starting 06/30/2025, this role requires expertise in providing in-home wound care services to geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will work 3-5 days a week, Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 7 pm. Key responsibilities include performing physical exams, conducting imaging tests, placing skin grafts, meticulous cleaning and debridement, dressing changes, compression therapy, offloading, and pressure redistribution. This position offers the opportunity to provide critical care in various settings, including patients' homes and nursing homes, with potential for assignment extension.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide in-home wound care services to geriatric patients

Perform comprehensive physical examinations

Conduct and interpret imaging tests

Specialize in skin graft placement procedures

Execute meticulous wound cleaning and debridement

Perform dressing changes and apply appropriate wound care techniques

Implement compression therapy as needed

Apply offloading and pressure redistribution techniques

Utilize Athenahealth electronic health record system

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Adapt to a dynamic schedule with potential last-minute patient additions

Travel to various locations within the specified service area

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and nursing home staff

Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care management

Additional Information:

Experience in geriatric wound care is highly desirable

Comfort with traveling to different locations throughout the workday

Strong communication skills for effective patient and caregiver education
