We are seeking a licensed Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 26-day locum tenens assignment at a Correctional Facility in Massachusetts. Starting 05/19/2025, this role requires expertise in managing a diverse patient population, including those undergoing detox and with opioid use disorders. The PA will work Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm, with rounds beginning at 7:30am. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm (rounds at 7:30am)

Responsibilities and Duties:

Conduct daily rounds on 20-30 patients in the medical unit

Review patient issues, particularly those related to detox

Perform administrative tasks and manage extensive email communications

Collaborate with dental teams to clear patients for extractions

Provide care for patients with opioid use disorders

Offer consultations on prenatal care cases as needed

Utilize ERMA electronic health record system

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Adapt to the unique challenges of a correctional healthcare environment

Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and correctional staff

Adhere to facility protocols and best practices in correctional medicine

Additional Information:

Experience in addiction medicine or correctional healthcare is highly desirable
