About Us:
CARMAhealth, founded in 2017 by Dr. Carlos Tirado, is an integrated primary care and behavioral health practice specializing in the treatment of substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. We operate across Texas, Florida, and Virginia, delivering in-person and telemedicine care to treatment centers, hospitals, and public agencies. Our services include outpatient medication management, ketamine therapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

We are currently seeking a compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Buda, TX team to provide primary care and withdrawal management services for patients with substance use disorders.

Position Highlights:
Schedule: Flexible options available - Full-Time (Mon-Fri), Part-Time, and PRN (Weekends).
Setting: In-person care in a withdrawal management unit or outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, and daily rounds.
Develop and manage detox protocols for substances including alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines.
Administer medications for withdrawal symptoms (e.g., buprenorphine, benzodiazepines).
Coordinate care with nurses, case managers, and behavioral health providers.
Order and interpret labs, toxicology screenings, and diagnostic tests.
Manage mild to moderate medical issues related to withdrawal.
Educate patients on MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) and recovery strategies.
Maintain accurate, compliant EMR documentation.
Adhere to HIPAA, MAT, and regulatory standards.
Stay current with best practices in addiction medicine and withdrawal management.

Qualifications:
Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from an accredited program.
Active PA license in the state of Texas.
DEA license (required).
Prior experience in addiction medicine or withdrawal management is a plus.
Strong understanding of MAT protocols and addiction pharmacology.
Ability to manage urgent medical situations calmly and efficiently.
Familiarity with EMR systems and telehealth platforms.
