POSITION SUMMARY: Treats neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems using physical or mechanical means to restore function, manage pain, and promote mobility as prescribed by a physician under a physical therapist's direction. Responsible for following the patient's care plan and collaborating with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Associate s Degree from Physical Therapist Assistant Program CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistant licensure & BLS certification SKILLS: Accountability, assessment, decision-making, time management, strong communication, and organizational skills EXPERIENCE: None required NATURE OF SUPERVISION: Reports to Director/Manager, Rehab Services
ENVIRONMENT: Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free; potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous chemicals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good physical condition; involves standing, walking, lifting, and transferring patients and equipment up to 50 lbs.
