Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician, Call Center ensures exceptional patient support, accurate prescription processing, and seamless collaboration with the team. This role directly contributes to Empower's mission of expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare through innovative medications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists patients with medication-related inquiries, including availability and pricing, while processing prescription orders and refill requests accurately and efficiently.
Handles 70-100 incoming calls per 8-hour shift, addressing inquiries professionally, escalating complex issues, and returning customer voicemails promptly.
Performs pharmaceutical calculations, verifies prescription details, and collaborates with pharmacists and colleagues to ensure seamless customer service.
Navigates multiple internal systems to maintain accurate databases, updates patients on order tracking, verifies invoices, and manages documentation such as scanning and filing orders.
Adheres to all pharmacy policies, state and federal regulations, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines while maintaining organized, clean workspaces and equipment.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Demonstrates strong data entry skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of pharmacy regulations, and accurate dosage calculation abilities.

Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience or healthcare-related experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent; college education is preferred but not required.
Registered with the Texas Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
