Pride Health is hiring for a Pharmacy Technician III to support our client's medical facility based in Milwaukee, WI. This is a 3-month assignment opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute medications, including IV solutions and TPN solutions, following safety guidelines.
- Process medication orders and restock inventory, ensuring availability of necessary medications.
- Manage controlled substances and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist with customer service by handling phone inquiries and helping patients at the pharmacy window.
- Train and mentor less experienced staff, contributing to team development.
- Ensure compliance with Wisconsin pharmacy laws and regulations under the supervision of pharmacists.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
- A minimum of 3 years' work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.
- For decentralized technicians - a minimum of 3 years' work experience in an outpatient/community pharmacy is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
- IV certs would be a huge plus as well.
- Inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
- Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is required within 6 months of hire.
