Full time Shift:

Description: Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug
inventory and maintaining patient records. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors and staff. Work Focus: Performs pharmaceutical care activities (direct or indirect) for patients, clients, residents, participants, customers, hereafter referred to as "patients", within the "scope of practice" laws & training received; Support pharmacy operations including medication preparation, distribution, procurement, and administrative activities (e.g., maintaining records or supplies) that enhance or improve medication management, improve safety, and decrease risk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols with focus on accuracy.
  • Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to effective and quality operation of the department. Maintains logs, records, and other required files and documentation; answers telephone and pneumatic tube; and handles cash transactions.
  • Processes medication charges and credits according to established policy.
  • Able to resolve problems with minimal interventions or supervision
  • Assists other technician in completion of their roles.
  • Performs pharmacy computer order entry.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in a timely manner.
