Job Description Position Title: Personnel Security Specialist - Mid Reports To: Program Manager Clearance Type: Active Top Secret/SCI (willing to take CI Poly) Work Location: National Capital Region Start Date: On Contract Award Job Description: Advantage SCI is accepting applications to support a federal agency personnel security program. Summary of duties include but not limited to: Provides critical thinking and analysis for written documentation and oral presentations. Reviews and analyzes requests for investigations concerning security clearances, reciprocity, requirements, violations, and assessments. Reviews and analyzes various agency investigative files and related material to determine and extract all possible identifying information, matching records, questionable or overlapping elements and other areas of investigative consideration. Examines and analyzes material to determine any deliberate misrepresentation of facts, which furnish reason to sustain suspicion that the subject may be a possible security risk. Conducts PSIs as determined during a security investigation, in conjunction with information developed. Prepares a detailed analysis of all information developed, supporting analysis and recommendations to initiate further investigation. Ensures that all relevant information and justification is developed and properly considered in accordance with security policies and regulations. Conducts security briefings which include Security Awareness and Hostile Threat. Assists in conducting preliminary and final reviews of statements of personal history and related data prior to the initiation of background investigation procedures. Conducts BIs of individuals who would occupy positions where a determination of suitability for employment or access to classified information is required. Prepares reports on investigations resulting from interviews conducted during BIs. Drafts summary sheets on the results of investigations for all assigned cases. May also draft a detailed evaluation of the adverse information. Drafts a list of recommended questions for lines of inquiry for follow - on investigations. Assists in making recommendations for adjudication of personal BI. Work assignments include but are not limited to: Review Personnel Security Questionnaires (SF - 86 and SF - 85P) Verify information submitted on applications Contact subjects via approved methods to complete information BI forms Retrieve data from credit bureaus, request Local Agency Checks, review reports to determine criminal record, traffic violation, etc. Prepares reports on investigations from interviews conducted during the BI. Drafts summary sheets on the results of investigations for all assigned cases. Prioritizes assignments and creates schedules to meet deadlines.
