TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Month Position, Full-Time

STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible

SALARY RANGE: $20.00 - $26.50 per hour
Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

DUTIES:
Representative duties and responsibilities are listed, but not limited to the following:
  1. Assist and communicate with employees regarding leaves of absence; including paid, unpaid, and FMLA leaves
  2. Determine employee eligibility for FMLA leave
  3. Maintain and update employees' attendance records.
  4. Communicate with Payroll/Benefits and Human Resources staff regarding employee leaves of absence, including pay status and recording of employees' attendance.
  5. Assist employees with workplace injury/workers' compensation process.
  6. Prepare and submit required workers' compensation documents.
  7. Communicate with workers' compensation carrier regarding claims and submission of required documents.
  8. Data input of employees' information in distributed computer systems (Wincap and Frontline Central).
  9. Audit and input of employee timesheets, including verification of extra time and overtime.
  10. Processing payroll checks.
  11. Assist employees with use of computer systems (Wincap and Frontline Central).
  12. Cross-train with co-workers on various duties.
  13. Other duties as assigned to support Payroll and Benefit activities.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Civil Service eligibility for Personnel Clerk or equivalent title; Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Successful completion of at least thirty (30) college credit hours from a college or university; OR,
(B) One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time office clerical or secretarial experience, or performing personnel or payroll activities; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
  1. Strong interpersonal skills greeting visitors and callers, and in interactions with students and staff members.
  2. Skilled in PC applications with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  4. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and follow-through ability.
  5. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  6. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
