Description The City of Wentzville is currently in need of personal trainers for our gym and fitness programs. Trainers must be free to work flexible hours and be able to communicate meeting times with their assigned clients, and they must hold an up-to-date, nationally accredited certification.
This is an independent contractor position and is not considered an employee of the City of Wentzville. Contractors will receive a 1099 for work performed and are not eligible to participate in the City of Wentzville's benefits programs.

QualificationsEssential & Ancillary Job Duties - Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive client programs that drive client goal achievement and retention
- Help clients set realistic goals and provide motivation to adhere to plan
- Instruct fitness classes as designated and modify movements as needed for individual participants
- Coach and mentor clients one-on-one, in a semi-private group setting and/or a fitness class
- Monitor clients safety and adjust verbal instruction as needed to maintain a safe environment
- Maintain records of clients' progress
- Spot (provide physical assistance to) clients, if needed, to perform exercise movements
- Complete attendance reports and instructor sign in logs consistently
- Deliver excellent customer service to clients
- Arrive on time for contracted work. Punctuality and reliability is a must
- Willingness to work flexible hours
Job Qualifications & Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - One year of fitness instruction or personal training experience desired
- Up-to-date, nationally accredited personal training certification required with ability to maintain.
- Current CPR Certification required
- Knowledge of basic body functions and movement
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with supervisors as well as participants
